Terms of Service

Last updated: 30 June 2026

1. These terms

Cadence is operated by Cadence Fi Ltd, a company registered in Scotland. These terms apply whenever you create an account or use Cadence, and they form a contract between you and us. If you're signing up on behalf of a business, you're confirming you have the authority to bind that business to these terms.

2. What Cadence does

Cadence pulls together your business's financial data, from manual entry, file imports, or connected accounting and banking services, and turns it into cash flow forecasts, budgets, and alerts. Some features use AI to answer questions about your finances in plain language. Cadence supports financial decision-making; it doesn't replace the judgement of a qualified accountant, tax adviser, or solicitor, and we'd encourage you to treat it that way.

3. Setting up an account

You need to give us accurate details when you sign up, and keep your password to yourself. If something happens to your account, a breach, a former employee who still has access, anything like that, tell us at hello@cadencefi.co.uk straight away. You're responsible for what happens under your login, so it's worth taking that seriously.

4. Subscriptions, renewal, and cancelling

Paid plans renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel first. Before any renewal that increases what you pay, or before a free trial converts to a paid plan, we'll email you with enough notice to make a decision. You can cancel at any time from your account settings; the option is there, it works online, and we won't make you call anyone or jump through extra steps to use it. Once you cancel, you'll keep access until the end of the period you've already paid for, and we'll confirm the cancellation in writing. We don't refund part-used billing periods, except where the law requires it.

5. Your financial data

The data you put into Cadence, entered manually, imported, or synced from Xero or your bank, stays yours. We process it to run the service: building forecasts, generating reports, answering the questions you ask it. We don't sell it, and we don't use it to train AI models beyond what's needed to generate your own answers in the moment. Full detail is in our Privacy Policy, which sits alongside these terms.

6. Using Cadence fairly

Don't use Cadence to break the law, try to get into parts of the system that aren't yours, disrupt the service for other users, or scrape or automate access outside of any API we publish. We reserve the right to suspend accounts that do this; we'd rather not, and we'll always try to talk to you first if something looks wrong.

7. AI-generated answers

Cadence's AI features read your financial data and answer questions you ask in plain English. They're not autonomous; they respond to your queries and don't take any action on your account or your finances without you doing so yourself. Outputs are generated from the data already in your account; the AI doesn't access external information or make assumptions beyond what you've provided. It can still get things wrong, so check the underlying numbers before relying on its answers for a material decision. We don't guarantee the AI's output will be accurate, complete, or appropriate for your specific circumstances.

8. Connected services

If you connect Xero, a bank via Open Banking, or any other third-party service, that connection is also governed by that provider's own terms. We're not responsible for outages, inaccuracies, or changes on their end; though we'll do what we reasonably can to keep the integration working and flag it if something breaks.

9. What we're liable for

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or anything else the law doesn't allow us to exclude. Beyond that, we provide Cadence as a tool to support your decisions, not to make them for you; we're not liable for business losses arising from decisions made using information from the service, including AI-generated insights. If you're a consumer rather than a business under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, the statutory rights that apply to you aren't affected by anything in this section.

10. Ending the relationship

You can delete your account whenever you like from account settings; this triggers full data deletion in line with our Privacy Policy. We can suspend or close accounts that break these terms, and we'll tell you why if we do. If we ever discontinue Cadence entirely, we'll give existing customers reasonable notice and a way to export their data first.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the product changes. For anything material, a new limitation on liability, a change to how billing works, we'll email you or show an in-app notice before it takes effect. Carrying on using Cadence after that means you've accepted the update.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of Scotland, and any dispute that can't be resolved between us will go through the Scottish courts.
